Emma was in custody for theft; associated with substance misuse.
She was subsequently released on Home Detention Curfew and engaged well with the mentoring service. As Emma's stability improved, her mentor arranged for her to undertake voluntary work and she is currently undergoing training to become a peer mentor with Barnardo’s. She successfully came off the tag five months later.
Emma is now actively seeking employment and has attended one interview so far but was unsuccessful. She has other applications pending and has not re-offended or used controlled substances since her release.
