Shining On

Spring 2022 saw the launch of Shining On, a pilot project based in the Forth Valley, continuing and building on the work carrried out by Shine Mentors with our Mentees.

Shining On works with women who have completed their formal mentoring support with Shine and are ready to engage with a volunteer to continue to work to achieve personal goals and gain confidence, experience increased wellbeing and reduce social isolation.

Volunteers fulfil a distinct role that is different and complementary to that of Shine employed mentors. Volunteer’s primary task will be to offer support by befriending women who are approaching the end of their mentoring period and have requested continued involvement. You will be introduced and begin to build up the relationship with your match whilst they are still linked in with their Shine Mentor and participate in a "warm" handover.

Recruitment is currently underway as at April 2022. We welcome interest from people with experience of this type of role however training will be provided. It is anticipated that we will hold an intake event towards the end of April 2022 when further information will be available and there will be an opportunity to submit applications.
